“Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It's a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity.”
- Pema Chodron

My approach is collaborative, gentle, and places an importance on creating a strong therapeutic relationship. Developing trust, understanding, and authenticity is essential before any meaningful healing can take place. I provide traditional “talk” therapy during sessions as well as use the intuition of our bodies to provide a somatically oriented approach to better inform the connection between thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships. I strive to create a safe environment where clients can bring their full selves without fear of judgment. Safety, to me, means providing an environment that is trauma informed and a belief in meeting people where they are by honoring each individual’s choices, experiences, and goals. My practice embraces harm reduction, LGBTQ+ affirmation, and sex-positive, kink-aware care. I believe healing and growth thrive in spaces that honor authenticity, consent, and the full spectrum of human experience.
I also strive to expand my knowledge base by attending workshops, continuing education conferences, and reading books & journal articles in order to stay up to date with the latest treatment modalities, techniques, and recommendations. I have a particular interest in somatic approaches, neurobiology, trauma, child development, and attachment.
I am formally trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level 1 & 2, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Eating Disorders, and Embodied Recovery Levels 1 & 2.
